Afyonkarahisar Caravanserais

İshaklı (Sahipata) Caravanserai
Located in the İshaklı region of the Sultandağı district, this caravanserai was commissioned in 1249 by Sahipata Fahrettin Ali, one of the viziers of II. İzzeddin Keykavus. The caravanserai, built from finely cut stone, features rooms surrounding its courtyard, with a pavilion mosque at its center.

Döğer Caravanserai
Situated in the town of Döğer in the İhsaniye district, this caravanserai was built in 1434 by order of II. Murad. The lower level served as a stable, while the upper level provided lodging rooms for travelers.

Çay Caravanserai
Found in the Çay district, this structure is an example of Seljuk stone architecture. It belongs to the types of caravanserais with a courtyard and an enclosed structure. While its courtyard has deteriorated, the enclosed winter section still stands. Centrally, it features four columns (elephant legs) and is surrounded by twelve columns supporting vaulted ceilings with windows, giving it the appearance of a fortress-like stone-built structure.

Eğret Caravanserai
Located in the town of Anıtkaya, this caravanserai does not resemble typical Seljuk or Ottoman caravanserais. It is believed to be a work from the Germiyanid period.
